Our client is seeking a highly experienced renewable energy business development leader to join their growing team. An ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver successful projects while reporting to the head of the US origination team.

Key responsibilities for this role will include (but not limited to):

 

•    Identify and organize the greenfield development of solar projects using GIS tools to create and update project maps and databases based on attractive interconnection points in target regions.
•    Create utility-scale solar project development prospects centered on on-site control and evaluating project interconnection, permitting, and revenue contracts.
•    Coordination of the responsibilities and inputs of support services such as legal, engineering, finance, and project management
•    Identify and lead deal structuring and commercial discussions for project acquisition or other partnership arrangements such as development services agreements or joint development agreements with local early-stage developers.
•    Keep up-to-date on market developments and industry news/events to find business prospects quickly.

 


Required and desired skillsets, experience and qualifications for this role: 

 

•    Bachelor's degree required, MBA or related master's degree preferred.
•    Experience negotiating and finalizing business deals with landlords, developers, utilities, regulatory agencies, and off-takers.
•    Experience with RTOs (PJM, MISO, CAISO, SPP, ERCOT), international environments, legal, and full-cycle development is preferred.
•    Experience in the solar sector, regional legislation, and market procedures.
•    Strong interest in the solar and renewables industries, as well as a strong entrepreneurial drive
•    Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
