Sr. Project Manager

Join one of the biggest electrical engineering and construction firms in the US as they seek a Senior Project Manager to oversee the overall direction of the company's greatest revenue-producing projects. This company aspires to be a well-known specialist contractor known for detailed bids, precise pricing, and expertise in design-build and fast-track delivery methods. This role manages and controls the preparation and execution of construction contracts in order to satisfy the company's objectives of maximizing profit, quality, and safety. Oversees projects from start to finish and manages them in a way that surpasses the company’s clients' expectations, delivering each project on schedule and within budget while adhering to all business safety rules and OSHA-mandated standards.

Key responsibilities for this role will include (but not limited to):

 


•    Create value project schedules with correct front loading.
•    Control positive cash flow.
•    Monitor margin gain and fade, aiming to maximize gain while limiting fade.
•    Collaborate with the foreman on-site and support the field crew to ensure a smooth installation.
•    Monthly job status reports are reviewed to guarantee project profitability.
•    Provide a profit margin that is equal to or greater than the project estimate.
•    Collaborate with the field supervisor and foreman to create the project budget and cost code structure.
•    Plan and oversee Pre-Construction Meetings.
•    Communicate with the Pre-Construction team to identify value engineering possibilities.
•    Fill up the standard template for monthly cost forecasts and submit them to the Project Executive and/or Branch Manager.
•    Deliver projects with a high degree of quality and customer satisfaction to customers.
•    Monthly evaluation of project estimates vs. actual results to ensure that the goal profit margin is met.
•    Implement contingency planning to reduce hidden margin erosion and demonstrate successful project performance.
•    Weekly evaluation of job status and indirect reports to ensure overall productivity.

 


Required and desired skillsets, experience and qualifications for this role: 

 


•    Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a construction-related course.
•    A comparable combination of education, technical training, and/or associated experience as an electrical contractor or in a comparable industry is also considered.
•    Experience managing electrical construction projects for at least 7 years is required.
•    Ability to self-price change orders and work within project timelines.
•    Demonstrated ability to manage numerous projects.
•    Experience managing huge projects independently worth up to $100M.
•    Knowledgeable about software/computer applications and equipment.
•    Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
