Our client, an innovative engineering consultancy, is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer to lead and manage transportation projects. This role involves overseeing the design and execution of civil infrastructure projects, including highways and stormwater systems, while ensuring quality and adherence to project timelines and budgets.

Key responsibilities for this role will include (but are not limited to):

•    Oversee the design and development of transportation projects, including roads, bridges, and drainage systems.
•    Guide and mentor engineering teams, ensuring project goals are met.
•    Manage the creation of construction documents and ensure projects stay on track and within budget.
•    Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure seamless project integration.
•    Meet with clients to confirm project requirements and provide updates.
•    Work with contractors on design-build projects to ensure compliance with specifications.
•    Handle project bidding and construction support, including reviewing documents and addressing requests for information (RFIs).
•    Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards across projects.
•    Assist in business development by preparing proposals and presenting projects to clients.

Required and desired skillsets, experience, and qualifications for this role:

•    Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
•    Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) eligible for reciprocity.
•    5-10 years of experience in transportation engineering, especially in roadway design and drainage systems.
•    Experience managing projects worth over $40 million is preferred.
•    Familiarity with engineering design and project management software.
•    Membership in professional organizations (e.g., ASCE, ITE) is advantageous.
•    Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
•    A master’s degree is a plus.
•    Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create Excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
