• Conduct comprehensive testing of newly installed SCADA systems to ensure their completeness and accuracy.
• Utilize "big data" analysis techniques to identify major factors contributing to project underperformance.
• Execute or review capacity and performance tests for ongoing construction projects involving photovoltaic (PV), battery energy storage systems (BESS), and PV + BESS combinations.
• Identify and evaluate proposals for analysis services and consultants as necessary.
• Troubleshoot operational systems and analyze performance data to identify and address performance issues.
• Collaborate closely with project engineers to effectively manage project timelines.
• Verify the accuracy of production estimates and meteorological data sources by comparing them to data from operational systems.
• Work alongside the operations team to troubleshoot existing projects and develop plans for repairs and remediation.
• Enhance and refine processes to ensure the safe, high-quality, and high-performance execution of projects.
• Mentor and educate the team on emerging technology trends, best practices, and safety protocols.
• Actively participate in the company’s growth planning process, contributing to task forces focused on process improvement and engaging in strategic planning activities.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
• Over 7 years of professional experience in performance engineering and testing of complex generation systems, with a preference for experience in PV + BESS (Photovoltaic and Battery Energy Storage System)
• Familiarity with data analysis systems beyond Excel, such as scientific python, SAS, R, Julia, Domino Datalab, or similar solutions, for analyzing intricate datasets
• Proficient in working with SCADA systems (e.g., Bluence, EtaPRO, OSI PI), network design, and advanced analysis tools
• Field experience involving photovoltaic or battery storage projects, including troubleshooting, quality evaluation, and construction support
• Possesses PE license
• A Master's or Ph.D. degree in engineering is preferred
• Over 5 years of experience in PV and Battery Energy Storage System design and interconnection
• Proficiency in the Spanish language
• Holds an OSHA 10-hour or similar certification for job-site safety
• Ability to work across different time zones, particularly in Hawaii, for approximately 25% of the time
• Experience in developing machine learning/artificial intelligence algorithms for underperformance detection
• Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
