Our client, a leading environmental consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Environmental Noise and Acoustics Specialist to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including residential, commercial, infrastructure, and public sector developments. The ideal candidate will have expertise in noise and vibration analysis, regulatory compliance, and technical reporting.
Key responsibilities for this role will include (but are not limited to):
- Conducting noise and vibration analyses using industry-standard modeling tools and methodologies to evaluate potential environmental impacts.
- Performing field measurements of noise and vibration levels utilizing specialized equipment such as ANSI Type II sound level meters and vibration meters.
- Researching and interpreting relevant noise regulations, policies, and environmental impact criteria to ensure compliance with state and federal standards.
- Leading the preparation of technical reports, assessments, and environmental documentation to support project approvals.
- Providing oversight for noise compliance monitoring during construction activities and assisting with regulatory reporting.
- Engaging with stakeholders, including clients, agencies, and project teams, to communicate technical findings and provide expert guidance.
- Assisting in proposal development, business development initiatives, and client outreach efforts to support company growth.
Required and desired skillsets, experience, and qualifications for this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in acoustics, physics, engineering, environmental science, or a related field.
- At least six years of experience in noise/acoustic analysis.
- Knowledge of CEQA and NEPA requirements.
- Proficiency in noise modeling software (e.g., FHWA TNM, CadnaA, CREATE rail model, RCNM).
- Experience with field measurements and data analysis.
- Familiarity with Noise Study Reports (NSR) and Noise Abatement Decision Reports (NADR).
- Preferred: FAA AEDT experience, INCE certification, advanced degree, or recognized noise consultant status in California.
- Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create Excel trackers, and be able to use Word and PowerPoint for reporting/presentations via Teams or in-person
