Senior Electrical Engineer – SOLAR

They are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer who will be in charge of creating all relevant electrical engineering documents for all electrical engineering projects. Key responsibilities for this role will include (but not limited to):

 


•    Creating all parts of projects accurately and on time, including electrical analyses, designs, calculations, drawings, and details.
•    Developing work scopes, project contracts, modification orders, and other contract papers.
•    Regular contact with clients to ensure their pleasure while growing and nurturing the relationship.
•    Work on projects such as PV canopy projects at AHJs, DSAs, and OSHPDs, PV roof mounted projects at AHJs, DSAs, and OSHPDs, and PV utility size ground mount projects.
•    Gauge all wire diameters, conduit sizes, trenching needs, loss computations, arch flash analyses, and any other electrical concerns related to the projects listed above.
•    Create other renewable energy projects such as battery storage, fuel cells, wind turbines, and so on.
•    Measure all essential inverters, disconnects, panels, and other PV project equipment.
•    Capability to conduct electrical feasibility studies for PV and other renewable energy projects.
•    Responsible for projects such as Design Bus Tap designs, T24, Lighting Design, Photometric, Residential Electrical Design for New and Remodel/Additions, and Commercial Electrical Design for New and Remodel/Additions/TI. 

 


Required and desired skillsets, experience and qualifications for this role: 

 


•    Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
•    At least 5 years of experience in electrical engineering.
•    At least 2 years of expertise in electrical engineering in the photovoltaic (PV) sector.
•    Possess a current and valid California Electrical Engineering License.
•    Management expertise, including the ability to lead and direct a team.
•    Working understanding of Engineering Software applications.
•    2D AutoCAD 2013 (or newer) experience.
•    A thorough understanding of the 2013 CBC.
•    DSA experience is desirable.
•    Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
