Key responsibilities for this role will include (but not limited to):

 


•    Lead the implementation, enforcement, and ongoing enhancement of safety policies and procedures.
•    Ensure adherence to safe practices by actively being present at job sites.
•    Prepare and evaluate Safety Plans, Accident Prevention Plans, and Job Hazard Analyses.
•    Manage the coordination of drug screening requirements for construction projects.
•    Develop, coordinate, and deliver targeted safety training for field employees.
•    Oversee the acquisition, distribution, adequacy, and utilization of safety equipment (PPE) for field crews.
•    Create and coordinate safety forms and policies for field crews' use.
•    Regularly provide Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) to field crews.
•    Assist in accident investigation and reporting as required.
•    Maintain daily communication and professional interaction with field crews, demonstrating tact and courtesy.
•    Communicate with clients on a project basis, with a focus on exceptional customer service.
•    Conduct site safety inspections and collaborate with all contractors to address identified issues.
•    Track and analyze common problems, trends, opportunities, and incident costs to minimize losses; maintain effective information and performance measurement systems for communicating loss data.
•    Participate in pre-construction meetings and regular contractor status updates.

 


Required and desired skillsets, experience and qualifications for this role: 

 


•    Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related construction field.
•    At least 10 years experience working on heavy civil construction projects.
•    Ability to comprehend and interpret written material, including technical information, regulations, agency rules, and executive orders.
•    Capable of wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and meeting physical demands such as walking, standing, lifting to 40 pounds, climbing ladders and stairs, bending, squatting, and crawling in tight spaces.
•    Proficient knowledge of relevant federal requirements for the construction industry, such as OSHA.
•    Completion of 10-hour OSHA training.
•    Preference for safety-related credentials such as OSHA 501, OTI certifications, etc.
•    Familiarity with OSHA 1926 Construction Industry Regulations.
•    Completion of 30-hour OSHA training is preferred, but not mandatory; the selected candidate will attend the training during work hours.
•    Willingness to travel and relocate, as project sites are located domestically and internationally.
•    Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
