Due to rapid expansion, the company's ERES Group is looking for a Renewables Engineer to join the company's headquarters in Georgia or Florida. This position will aid in the creation of permit-ready plan sets for utility-scale solar PV projects. Plan sets must be code-compliant and follow local AHJ/utility standards as well as customer requests. As part of the design process, the engineer will be in charge of doing electrical calculations. This individual would also collaborate cross-functionally with other teams/engineers from various disciplines to complete the full permit package.

• Determine the overall system layout, including module/array positions, conduit and access lines, and other equipment locations.
• Design the electrical section of the PV System from module to inverter, including single-line and three-line schematics.
• Carry out engineering calculations such as voltage drop, minimum and maximum voltages, optimal string length, and so on.
• Assign drafting work to civil/electrical drafters as appropriate.
• Collaborate closely with other discipline engineers, including civil and structural engineers, and provide support as needed.
• Make any changes requested by the customer or AHJs and update the plans as needed.
• Help with the permit application procedure.
• Prepare a bill of materials and assist clients with technical issues of material purchase.
• Visit the location to appraise the project or get information.
• Maintain close contact with clients, vendors, and consultants while providing great customer service.
• Give technical assistance to the business development team while bidding on new projects and writing proposals.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, ideally in renewables, electrical, or energy engineering
• At least four years of professional job experience.
• Working knowledge of the NEC (National Electric Code).
• Capable of sizing wires and conduits, calculating voltage drops, and so on.
• Working understanding of electrical equipment such as combiner boxes, inverters, transformers, and so on.
• Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
