Project Engineer

Our client, a well-established engineering consulting firm specializing in infrastructure projects, is seeking a qualified Project Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing technical analyses, managing project workflows, engaging with clients, leading design efforts, drafting construction documentation, and ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.

 


Key responsibilities for this role will include (but not limited to):

 


•    Leading a design team to advance various water resource initiatives.
•    Conducting site reviews to inform designs for new or rehabilitated facilities.
•    Preparing and supervising technical analyses and engineering designs.
•    Coordinating with project owners, regulatory agencies, and external consultants.
•    Utilizing AutoCAD for drafting and developing GIS exhibits.
•    Overseeing construction coordination, inspections, and document reviews.

 


Required and desired skillsets, experience and qualifications for this role: 

 


•    Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; a Master’s degree is a plus.
•    At least 10 years of experience in conducting technical analyses and designing projects related to water resources.
•    Professional Civil Engineering License in California is mandatory.
•    Demonstrated ability to lead a team of engineers and support staff effectively.
•    Experience managing client relationships and engaging effectively with stakeholders.
•    Proficiency in AutoCAD.
•    A valid California driver’s license.
•    Previous experience as a Project Engineer specifically in water resource projects.
•    Formal training or certification in Project Management is preferred.
•    Knowledge of California Central Valley environmental agencies and other regulatory entities is beneficial.
•    Involvement in a professional organization related to the industry is desirable.
•    Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
