As a Project Engineer, you'll play a critical role in executing solar and storage-integrated projects for their US business, supporting the Technical Team in all phases of development. • Establish and oversee technical requirements in contracts for EPC engagements
• Assist in EPC selection and contract negotiation for the Construction team
• Provide necessary engineering support to ensure timely project completion
• Review and approve project designs and submittals during development and construction
• Manage Owner's Engineering as needed to support the Construction team
• Conduct site visits to verify Construction team progress and milestones
• Assist in engaging Independent Engineering firms for 3rd party financing
• Provide technical diligence support for Project Finance
• Share critical lessons learned to align project budgets and expected returns with market expectations
• Develop task management tools to prioritize technical requests and provide regular updates
• Attend development and delivery meetings to represent specialty area
• Attend relevant third-party stakeholder meetings and events as needed.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Extensive experience in PV utility-scale design, including high-voltage substations and energy storage components.
• Familiarity with civil design requirements for PV utility-scale projects, including access, site drainage, and hydrology.
• Experience in energy resource assessments and identifying areas of improvement and optimization.
• Knowledge of solar PV utility-scale construction, including project management support and technical document reviews.
• Strong knowledge of solar project construction codes and regulations.
• Experience in engineering utility-scale PV plants.
• Familiarity with project financing structures and diligence requirements.
• Understanding of industry stakeholders, such as investors, EPCs, and third-party labs.
• Knowledge of current PV technology and trends in major components and balance of systems.
• Ability to identify key information in project site technical documents.
• Familiarity with EPC cost estimation based on design methodology.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, etc.).
• Advanced knowledge of simulation software including PVsyst, PVsol, StorageVAT, etc.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% to visit project sites and attend key meetings.
• Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
