This opportunity is for a Project Engineer – Analyst to assist senior development staff with duties ranging from site assessments, pre-development, pre-construction, engineering, procurement & construction (EPC). These are truly exciting projects within renewable energy, energy transition projects and solar storage. If you’re looking for further exposure into the clean energy sector – this, is it!
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Develop conceptual specifications, perform system configuration, and evaluate technology options for both PV & Storage
- Provide technical support and manage the planning/development of design documents through all lifecycle phases. All the while collaborating with project staff to create a strategic action plan
- Work with the Investment Deal Team(s) to provide due diligence information and feasibility analysis of potential acquisitions
- Evaluate EPCs and suppliers for pre-qualification and manage the associated vendor and contractor selection process.
- Develop and maintain project timelines, ensuring milestones are met on time and within budget
- Manage energy regulatory approvals (CUP, CAISO, FERC, NERC, CEC, EIA, etc.)
- Manage the development of bid packages, technical specifications during EPC and Equipment Supply contracting, RFP and award process.
- Prepares weekly and monthly status reports for senior staff and off-takers.
- Assist Senior Development Staff in securing the appropriate approvals, certifications, permits, etc. from city and other government agencies as required.
- Assist with the entitlement process of a project lifecycle
- Manage project documents including discretionary and non-discretionary approvals, agency releases/declarations/determinations, easements, covenants, tract maps, construction documents, A/E design and engineering plans and specifications
Required and desired education, skillsets and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and equivalent work experience in a field related to civil / electrical infrastructure design and construction
- Advanced Degree preferred
- Prior experience with utility scale Solar PV / energy storage projects
- At least three (3) years of prior relevant experience in a development / EPC environment in utility scale projects (preferably Solar + Storage projects) for IPP or EPC
- Working knowledge and prior experience with 8760 and similar energy production schedule a must
- Demonstrated proficiency in using SharePoint or other document control software
- Demonstrated proficiency in using Project Management software including but not limited to BlueBeam, Microsoft Project, etc.
- Periodic travel to project site in Central California
