Our client's Advisory Services division is focused on supporting B2B customers in their pursuit of Net-Zero goals. The Principal Business Development Manager (Principal BDM) is responsible for devising and executing an effective sales strategy centered on decarbonization for large corporate customers. The Principal BDM will efficiently coordinate local resources to deliver globally integrated decarbonization solutions to target customers. We are seeking a candidate with an entrepreneurial mindset and prior experience in energy, sustainability, or decarbonization advisory sales. The role involves interactions with client C-Suite executives. The Principal BDM will craft and implement a global sales strategy targeting specific accounts, establishing close relationships with the customer's key personnel and senior executive leadership. This strategy should span all Enel X countries, leveraging local sales teams and subject matter experts as needed, with the ultimate aim of maximizing customer value. The ability to navigate complex sales in a rapidly growing business is essential for success. The role demands a confident and professional self-starter, an adept listener, a creative dealmaker, a thought leader, and someone comfortable interfacing with senior-level leadership, all while maintaining a strong customer-centric focus.
• Develop, implement, and execute a clear account strategy focused on decarbonization, utilizing the full range of EXAS services, aligned with the customer's desired business outcomes and aimed at maximizing incremental revenue for EXAS.
• Cultivate relationships with the C-Suite to provide guidance on decarbonization strategy, influence decision-making to expand the customer base, and drive global expansion.
• Act as the key point of contact for target customer relations globally.
• Communicate changes in customer needs and market trends to internal stakeholders, driving innovation to foster company growth and maintain a competitive edge.
• Develop expertise on the customer, their business, and their industry to identify emerging trends and opportunities for implementing EXAS solutions.
• Facilitate discussions on innovation, executive roundtables, and strategic business reviews with large corporate clients.
• Proven track record of meeting and surpassing new business-related sales quotas with large corporate clients.
• Expertise in lead generation and the ability to swiftly identify and qualify sales opportunities to build and maintain a pipeline for new business.
• Strong client-facing and internal communication skills – both written and oral - with the capacity to communicate complex concepts and present compelling business cases to high-level decision-makers.
• Highly developed business acumen.
• Adaptability and flexibility to handle deadline pressure, ambiguity, and change.
• Ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree.
• 10+ years of new business sales experience.
• 7+ years of experience in a global B2B sales environment.
• Previous experience in energy, sustainability, or decarbonization consulting sales is highly desirable.
The hiring range for this position is $135,136 to $168,920 per year. For remote positions, this is based on a national average base pay for this role. For positions in California, this range will be specific to the location in California. The actual range may vary based on the geographic location of the chosen candidate. For all positions, the base pay actually offered will take into account various factors, including internal equity and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Our client's base pay is one component of the total compensation package.
