Our client, a leading consulting firm specializing in sustainable environmental solutions, is seeking an experienced environmental expert to spearhead initiatives in PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) strategy and practice development. This position is essential in setting technical standards, guiding project teams, and shaping the national approach to PFAS challenges for both public and private sectors. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of PFAS and bring a strategic mindset to drive effective and sustainable solutions.
• Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for PFAS-related projects across the nation.
• Develop and implement strategic plans for PFAS service offerings to public and private clients.
• Partner with regional teams to ensure proper resource allocation and execution of PFAS strategies.
• Drive business growth by identifying new PFAS project opportunities and developing pursuit plans.
• Foster client relationships, deliver technical presentations, and promote PFAS expertise at industry events.
• Oversee and contribute to PFAS technology development and research initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance on PFAS project execution, from contamination analysis to remedial design.
• Review project deliverables to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with established standards.
• Negotiate favorable terms and meet key financial goals, including revenue, margin, and backlog targets.
• Identify and address risks in the project pursuit process to safeguard client and business interests.
• Collaborate with international teams in Europe, the UK, Australia, and Canada on PFAS projects and best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or relevant field required.
• 15+ years of experience in environmental consulting and project management.
• 5+ years of business development experience in PFAS or related fields.
• Advanced degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a similar field preferred.
• Professional registration is preferred.
• Leadership experience in a water or remediation-related technical association is a plus.
• Strong understanding of PFAS regulations and treatment methods in water, soil, and sediment.
• Good financial acumen related to project budgets, sales pipeline, and risk management.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for compliance with specific projects.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time for client meetings.
• Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create Excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
