NEPA Project Manager

Join our client, a leading firm in the environmental services sector, as they search for a dedicated NEPA Project Manager. This role offers a chance to engage in diverse projects and contribute to innovative solutions that address environmental challenges. You will play a vital part in supporting the development and implementation of environmental studies and permitting processes, all while working in a collaborative environment that fosters professional growth.

 


Key responsibilities for this role will include (but are not limited to):

 


•    Leading project management and team leadership, including mentoring junior staff.
•    Preparing and overseeing routing and siting studies, NEPA documentation, and federal and state compliance documentation for various environmental projects.
•    Building and nurturing strong client relationships to enhance business development efforts.
•    Assisting in and spearheading proposal creation and cost estimation for environmental and siting initiatives.
•    Coordinating regularly with agencies, clients, and team members to ensure project alignment and success.
•    Managing project budgets, forecasts, and overall client satisfaction.
•    Applying creativity and sound judgment to anticipate and resolve project-related challenges.
•    Performing additional duties as required.

 


Required and desired skillsets, experience, and qualifications for this role:

 


•    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental sciences, natural sciences, planning, or a related field.
•    At least 7 years of experience in project management, particularly in engineering or environmental projects.
•    Ability to manage teams and contribute to business development.
•    Knowledge of the National Environmental Policy Act and local/state permitting processes.
•    Experience with energy facility siting and licensing, including familiarity with agencies like the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
•    Background in electricity transmission, oil & gas, renewable energy, or transportation is a plus.
•    Strong communication skills for building client relationships.
•    Good analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and GIS.
•    Experience with both private and public sector clients is preferred.
•    Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
