Manager, Project Finance

Join one of Japan's largest power generation companies, which generates around 30% of the country's electricity. This organization's goal is to provide a clean energy supply basis that incorporates renewable energy and low-carbon thermal power. They are seeking for a Project Finance Manager to work directly with the Sr. Director to assist with financial analysis and finance across all the company activities. You will be in charge of assisting in the evaluation of investment opportunities and the implementation of project financing transactions to optimize project and portfolio value. Key responsibilities for this role will include (but not limited to):

 

  • Contribute to the development of the financial team by tracking industry trends, documenting best practices, and coaching junior team members. 
  • Collaborate with internal and external functions to build and maintain model assumptions
  • Support finance deals by supervising due diligence, modeling, and managing counterparties such as lenders/investors, advisors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain and create thorough financial models to support investment decisions for development projects, M&A, and project finance transactions including tax equity, debt, and sponsor equity
  • Light amount travel is expected to the office, site visits, and other business purposes
  • Aids in the development of junior employees

 

Required and desired skillsets, experience and qualifications for this role:

 

  • Bachelor of Science in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • MBA or CFA certification 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in developing and utilizing financial models for investment analysis and project finance
  • Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
  • Understands the structures of tax equity and renewable energy finance as well as the US power markets, policy, and economic drivers as they relate to power projects and financings
  • Experience assisting with the implementation of complicated financial and commercial transactions
  • Expertise in designing and deploying complex financial models for investment research and financing transactions in designing and deploying complex financial models for investment research and financing transactions
