Key responsibilities for this role will include (but not limited to):

 

 

•    Lead a project team in implementing protection and control relaying design schemes on high voltage substation projects for utilities clients (4kV - 500kV)
•    Create engineering deliverables such as bill of materials, SCADA and telecommunication drawings, relay panel arrangement drawings, single line, three lines, AC and DC schematics, equipment wiring diagrams, relay panel wiring diagrams, equipment specifications, relay settings calculation, and relay coordination studies
•    Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate work that involves complex engineering tasks, requiring independent judgment
•    Manage budgets, schedules, and quality requirements for assigned projects
•    Solve difficult problems by adapting and modifying standard techniques, procedures, and criteria
•    Devise new approaches to encountered problems
•    Participate in the identification and hiring of newer, less experienced engineers
•    Play a prominent role in training and guiding newer engineers

 


Required and desired skillsets, experience and qualifications for this role: 

 


•    Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
•    Minimum of 8 years of experience in protective relay design field
•    Ability to lead a team of up to seven individuals and contribute to the interviewing/selection process
•    Proficiency in applying client specifications and preferences to design projects
•    Effective time management and logical decision-making ability
•    Professional Engineering licensure (strongly preferred)
•    Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
