They are currently seeking for a Lead Electrical Engineer 4 to assist with their substation projects and project team in Tustin, Irivine, and Denver. This position will serve as a technical specialist in a lead substation design role that includes voltage classes at the distribution, sub transmission, and transmission levels.

• Execute substation design, including physical design and protective relaying/control, with a focus on continual improvement.
• Use your understanding of standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, applicable codes, and business rules and procedures to your advantage.
• Consistently and independently applies knowledge to specified tasks while adhering to the company’s quality program.
• Responsible for verifying firm quality program compliance while executing internal Quality Assurance technical reviews.
• Handles the specified budget, schedule, and quality standards.
• Independent review, selection, and modification of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria is planned and carried out.
• Controls job assignments and direct reporting to guarantee quality.
• Actively involved in management, project planning, and work/resource planning meetings.
• Determine and communicate significant customer interests to project team members, as well as develop solutions for less difficult tasks.
• Concentrate on the demands of internal clients while learning about the major interests and drivers of external clients.
• The division may identify you as a technical specialist if you have extensive understanding of an engineering process and/or technical features of an industry.
• Supports with the performance management process, mentoring, recognition, and any necessary remedial actions.
• Direct reporting and less experienced engineers should be mentored.
• A bachelor's degree in engineering from an authorized program.
• At least 5 years of related work experience is required.
• Comprehensive understanding of engineering design principles, as well as applicable design guidelines and standards relevant to the given engineering discipline.
• Experience with Substation Design - Physical and P&C.
• Experience with Quality Assurance and Quality Control in Substation Design Projects.
• PE license, preferably from California.
• Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
