Are you an experienced Highway Engineer looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity? Our client, a prominent player in the transportation and infrastructure sector, is seeking a skilled professional to join their dynamic team. With a strong focus on innovation and quality, this role offers the chance to contribute to significant roadway design projects that enhance communities and improve quality of life.

 


Key responsibilities for this role will include (but not limited to):

 


•    Demonstrating excellent technical knowledge of roadway design fundamentals.
•    Leading all aspects of roadway plans production, acting independently on technical matters.
•    Producing high-quality construction documents and ensuring project deliverables meet client expectations.
•    Interacting effectively with clients, contractors, and other key stakeholders to build and maintain strong relationships.
•    Ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations in roadway design projects.

 


Required and desired skillsets, experience and qualifications for this role: 

 


•    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited program or equivalent experience.
•    At least 10 years of relevant experience in roadway design.
•    Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Florida or the ability to obtain licensure within six months of hire.
•    Proficiency with design and production software used for construction documents.
•    Proven ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders to build strong relationships.
•    Experience with FDOT design, including major reconstruction on limited access facilities, rural/urban arterials, and bicycle/pedestrian facilities (preferred).
•    Municipal/Local Government design experience within the State of Florida (preferred).
•    Experience in Temporary Traffic Control Design (preferred).
•    FDOT Temporary Traffic Control Certification (preferred).
•    Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
