Geotechnical Project Engineer, Texas

This esteemed engineering consulting firm has evolved from its roots into a nationally recognized leader in infrastructure and environmental consulting. They are currently seeking a Geotechnical Project Engineer who will be responsible for coordinating field operations, overseeing drilling activities, monitoring construction projects, conducting laboratory tests, performing engineering analyses, and preparing technical documentation and presentations for clients. Joining their team means contributing to impactful projects that shape the environment, public infrastructure, renewable energy, and community development efforts.

 


Key responsibilities for this role will include (but not limited to):

 


•    Coordinating field observations and studies, including overseeing geotechnical drilling activities.
•    Conducting various tests and monitoring construction operations, preparing detailed engineering field reports.
•    Providing quality control services during construction, reviewing reports, and conducting site visits.
•    Performing engineering analyses, preparing technical proposals, and delivering project-specific presentations.
•    Engaging in project planning, budgeting, and client relationship management.

 

 

Required and desired skillsets, experience and qualifications for this role: 

 


•    Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
•    Professional licensure in relevant state.
•    5-8 years of experience in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
•    Strong skills in geotechnical applications and soil-structure interaction.
•    Proficiency in geotechnical analysis and design software.
•    Experience with soft soil conditions and finite element modeling is desirable.
•    Leadership experience in mentoring junior staff.
•    Ability to organize technical material into comprehensive reports and perform QA/QC reviews.
•    Proficient in project planning, budgeting, and management.
•    Demonstrated ability in client relationship building and business development.
•    Willingness to travel and conduct fieldwork.
•    Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
