Financial Development Analyst - Rockville, MD

This role will provide the right candidate with the ability to make an immediate and long-term impact on this organization’s operations. The Financial Development Analyst will be directly reporting to the Director of Finance and will support the corporate and project financing efforts for this solar energy developer, installer and project manager. They are making huge strides in the clean energy sector with no signs of slowing down in their goals. Additionally, this Analyst will play a huge role in supporting the organisations financial planning and strategic efforts.

2-5 years’ experience required.

 

Responsibilities with this opportunity (not limited to):

  • Understand and model detailed tax (federal, state, and local) implications for projects with extensive reviews.
  • Assist with capital raising at both the corporate and project level, building accurate MS Excel-based financial models quickly and under deadline for internal and external audiences/stakeholders.
  • Provide support to the business development team by analyzing the economics of solar energy projects and producing Power Purchase Agreement pricing.
  • Evaluate federal, state, and local solar energy incentives and maintain a list of applicable incentives.
  • Produce short-term and long-term corporate profitability and cashflow forecasts for management and investors.
  • Participate in the strategic planning for the Company (M&A, partnerships, new product development).
  • Ad hoc but consistent analysis including market trends, research and corporate operations.

 

Skills and qualifications (required and desirable) for this role:

 

  • The ability to be a self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility (unprompted by management)
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to effectively collaborate with other business functions (across all seniorities)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, while prioritizing and managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong grasp of financial/accounting principles (in the industry is a bonus skill)
  • Familiarity with the solar PV or energy industry players, economics, and trends is a plus.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Business from an accredited four-year college or university with two to three years of experience in a financial analysis role with strong financial modeling skills.
