An international clean energy company that is dedicated to accelerating the energy transition by leveraging existing global energy infrastructure. They are currently searching for an Accounting Manager / Controller to join their growing team in the United States. In this position, you will oversee the accounting processes, stakeholder reporting and cost controls. You will collaborate closely with management from the finance, operations, and development departments to safeguard the financial well-being of the company and manage the capital strategy for the company and its projects.

Key responsibilities for this role will include (but not limited to):

•    Lead the accounting function, working closely with and managing 3rd-party accountant(s) to ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded, timely, and in compliance with U.S. GAAP. Ensure that the books are closed on time each period.
•    Manage the company’s accounts system and ensure that all transactions and assets are properly accounted for in the company’s books and records. Ensure that financial records and reporting comply with legal requirements and GAAP standards. Manage the compliance of complex accounting issues associated with Project Financing, Tax Equity, and other PTC-related matters, with the support of 3rd-party accounting firm(s).
•    Collaborate with the entire organization on the development, coordination, and presentation of annual project and corporate-level budgets, re-forecasts, and commitments for both internal and external stakeholder use.
•    Collaborate with the entire organization to prepare important financial metrics (e.g., historical/forecasted performance) and recurring financial reports.
•    Provide close support on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis by reviewing the variance of actuals vs budget vs forecast.
•    Effectively communicate with colleagues, internal business teams, and external stakeholders.
•    Conduct ad hoc reports and analyses for corporate finance, project asset management, and project development teams to evaluate project and/or company-level financial performance.
•    Manage employee benefits administration, including enrollments and changes
•    Work with an external HR payroll provider to ensure proper compliance with federal and state payroll laws and onboard new hires

Required and desired skillsets, experience and qualifications for this role: 

•    A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
•    An active Certified Public Accountant license is preferred.
•    Over 7 years of accounting and/or FP&A experience in a leadership role.
•    Thorough understanding of GAAP accounting. Experience with IFRS is a plus, but not required.
•    Strong experience in creating and working with financial models (financial, commercial, or operational) and a good understanding of financial statements.
•    Deadline-driven, with project management skills necessary for cross-organizational coordination and on-time delivery of results and presentations.
•    Public Accounting experience is a plus.
•    Human Resources experience is a plus.
•    Experience in cash accounting and management is preferred.
•    Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic start-up environment
•    Experience in a construction/project-oriented operating environment and renewable energy experience is preferred
•    Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
