Environmental Engineer (Remediation Focus)

Our client, a leading environmental consulting firm in the Pacific Northwest, is seeking experienced Environmental Engineers to join their team in their Washington offices. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging environmental projects in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

 


Key responsibilities for this role will include (but not limited to):

 


•    Collaborating with technical teams to support contaminated site investigation and remediation projects.
•    Conducting environmental due diligence, litigation support, and regulatory coordination.
•    Designing and operating remediation systems, including air-sparge, soil vapor extraction, and in-situ remediation.
•    Managing multi-disciplinary teams to execute cleanup actions with varying degrees of complexity.
•    Ensuring compliance with applicable environmental regulations and guidance.
•    Preparing proposals, reports, and formal cleanup documentation.
•    Working with scientists and engineers on business development objectives.
•    Traveling as required for project and business development related work (up to 20-percent time).
•    Demonstrating commitment to safety and adherence to health and safety requirements.

 


Required and desired skillsets, experience and qualifications for this role: 

 


•    Bachelor or Master’s degree in environmental engineering from an ABET certified program.
•    Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Washington State.
•    Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in environmental consulting.
•    Strong knowledge of environmental regulations including MTCA, RCRA, and CERCLA.
•    Experience with permitting processes, including NPDES and KCIW discharge permits.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•    Proficiency in CADD and engineering design plan preparation.
•    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•    Familiarity with GIS, data management, and laboratory analytical procedures is a plus.
•    Previous experience with independent cleanups and closure through the Voluntary Cleanup Program is preferred.
•    Existing client relationships and business development experience are advantageous.
•    Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
