Our client is looking for an Electrical Engineer 4 to assist with their projects in various locations such as College Station, Dallas, Houston, and Phoenix. For this role, you will work as a technical specialist or as a lead substation designer on distribution, sub-transmission, and transmission level voltage classes. As a team leader, you are also accountable for the overall execution and quality of substation projects.

• Sets up a variety of complicated engineering deliverables for the design of substations.
• Ensuring that the company's quality program is followed while doing internal Quality Assurance technical evaluations.
• Provides advice and guidance to others working on the same project and discipline.
• Conducts complex research and makes suggestions for the selection of equipment and/or materials.
• Execute substation design, including physical design and protective relaying/control, with a focus on continual improvement.
• Knowledge of standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, applicable codes, and the company's policies and procedures is required.
• Manages job assignments and assures quality from direct reports.
• Interact directly with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Identify core customer interests, communicate drivers to project team members, and propose solutions for less difficult tasks.
• The division may recognize you as a technical specialist if you have an in-depth understanding of an industry's engineering process and/or technical features.
• Responsible for the design of a comprehensive project of modest complexity within an allocated practice area (s).
• Typically supports the performance management process, mentoring, recognition, and any necessary remedial actions.
• Applying information consistently and autonomously and adhering to the company's quality program about assigned assignments.
• Coordinates and executes independent evaluations, selections, and engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria modifications.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a reputable accredited school.
• At least 5 years of comparable work experience.
• Intermediate understanding of engineering design principles and appropriate design guidelines and standards linked to the given engineering discipline.
• Expertise with Substation Design - Physical & P&C.
• Expertise in Quality Assurance and Quality Control in Substation Design Projects.
• PE certification.
• Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
