Key responsibilities for this role will include (but not limited to):

 


•    Managing a dedicated team of electrical engineers, collaborating with cross-functional departments, suppliers, and utility companies and overseeing charger systems, switchboards, and utility interfaces.
•    Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of EV charging systems, encompassing chargers, switchboards, and related infrastructure.
•    Coordinate with utilities to ensure compliance with energy supply requirements and regulatory standards.
•    Develop electrical schematics, diagrams, and layouts for charging infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration with mechanical and software systems.
•    Conduct design reviews and create comprehensive documentation to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
•    Collaborate with engineering teams, suppliers, and utility companies to successfully integrate components.
•    Develop and manage project schedules, identify potential risks, and effectively communicate them to stakeholders.
•    Mentor and manage a team of electrical engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous learning.
•    Stay updated on industry trends, standards, and technologies to keep our charging systems at the forefront of the EV industry.

 


Required and desired skillsets, experience and qualifications for this role: 

 


•    Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
•    At least 8 years of experience in electrical systems design and development, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership position.
•    Extensive expertise in designing and implementing EV charging systems and infrastructure, including knowledge of utility regulations and standards.
•    A proven track record of successfully managing projects, delivering them within specified timelines and budgets.
•    A strong comprehension of electrical engineering principles, practices, and relevant regulations and standards such as IEEE and NEC.
•    Professional Engineer (PE) License.
•    A Master's Degree is preferred.
•    Proficiency in using CAD tools and electrical engineering design software.
•    Experience in project finance or financial modeling related to charging station projects would be advantageous.
•    Familiarity with fleet planning is a plus.
•    Knowledge of EV planning tools like NREL, CEC, and others would be beneficial.
•    Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
