Our client, a prominent player in hydropower asset management, is seeking a dedicated EHS Manager to lead and enhance their Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Management system. This pivotal role involves designing safety programs, standardizing procedures, ensuring regulatory compliance, conducting training, performing inspections, and supporting field staff, operations, and contractors. • Develop and implement a comprehensive EHS Management system, emphasizing environmental, health, and safety initiatives for hydropower assets.
• Establish and maintain safety protocols and procedures in line with regulatory requirements.
• Identify essential safety items for field staff and standardize lockout and tagout procedures to ensure accident prevention and compliance.
• Standardize field processes to ensure consistent safety practices and minimize risks.
• Coordinate and deliver annual and real-time training sessions for employees, ensuring adherence to safety guidelines.
• Maintain detailed documentation of all training activities, ensuring records are up-to-date and accessible.
• Conduct regular inspections and GAP assessments, applying fall protections and other necessary safety measures.
• Provide support and guidance to field staff, overseeing safety specialists as the team grows.
• Liaise with stakeholders, including local communities, contractors, and project technical and operations teams, ensuring alignment with safety standards and regulations.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to promote a culture of safety and compliance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field; a Master’s in Environmental Science is preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience leading EHS activities within hydropower/infrastructure projects, renewables, or related manufacturing industries.
• In-depth knowledge of hydropower environmental, health, and safety regulations and compliance standards.
• Proven ability to develop and manage EHS programs and initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.
• Strong leadership and collaborative skills with experience overseeing safety specialists.
• Willingness to travel to sites up to 20% - 25%.
• Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
