Director of Finance – Capital Markets

Join an innovative technology company in the mining industry that prioritizes environmental sustainability and clean energy. They are looking for a Director of Finance for their Capital Markets team who will lead and evaluate international finance transactions, including corporate finance, project finance, and M&A. The position reports directly to the CFO and involves guiding cross-functional teams throughout the project development process. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical and communication skills and be dedicated to personal accountability.

Key responsibilities for this role will include (but not limited to):

 


•    Evaluate and lead complex international corporate finance, project finance, and M&A transactions.
•    Support cross-functional teams throughout the project development process.
•    Provide guidance to other functional areas as they negotiate key contracts or develop strategies that affect the finance ability of projects.
•    Juggle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
•    Work in a high-growth, high-ambiguity environment.
•    Be highly analytical, a strong verbal and written communicator, and possess a passion for personal accountability.

 

 

Required and desired skillsets, experience, and qualifications for this role: 

 


•    Bachelor’s degree in finance, engineering, accounting, economics, or a related field.
•    Over 7 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, project finance, consulting, and/or corporate development roles.
•    Background in financing large projects in the energy, infrastructure, oil & gas, mining, or other commodities industries.
•    Experience leading deal negotiations and possess expert proficiency in financial modeling for large, complex assets.
•    Experience with international tax structuring and tax-advantaged transactions, and a significant professional network in the capital and project finance markets.
•    Fluent in English, and bilingual English/Spanish proficiency is preferred.
•    Experience working in Latin America is preferred.
•    Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
