Decarbonization Consultant

Our client, a leading private equity firm in decarbonization investments, is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join their in-house Impact and Sustainability consulting team as the Operational Excellence expert. This role will be responsible for the management of our client's portfolio company decarbonization and impact management projects, portfolio company stewardship, and GHG (Greenhouse Gas) emissions reduction program execution. This person will be responsible for driving portfolio operational excellence, managing programs, and value creation across our client's portfolio companies’ funds and its private equity and infrastructure investment portfolio. The Associate will report to the Managing Director and Chief Decarbonization Officer at our client and will work alongside our client's senior investment team and decarbonization professionals. This is a hybrid position who will sit with the Sustainability team in our client’s Boston, MA headquarters. The company will also assist with relocation costs to Boston, MA if applicable.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

 

• Private equity and infrastructure investment due diligence.

• Portfolio stewardship and operations: take a hands-on approach to run and implement reduction programs, including presenting budgets and offering practical solutions for execution within facilities.

• Portfolio company impact performance plan development and portfolio company sustainability project management.

• Inspection and review of portfolio company operations, execution of portfolio company assessments.

• Technical guidance on operational excellence, regulatory compliance, sustainability leadership and EBIDA expansion through decarbonization and sustainability-related program development.

• Quarterly and annual investor reporting

 

 

Qualifications:

 

 

• Passion for decarbonization, backed with a proven track record of excellence in execution.

• 3-6 years of total work experience in-house working on business operational excellence and sustainability program development and implementation.

• Minimum of 2-3 years of direct professional experience in a corporate operations function or operational excellence function.

• Proven tracked record in developing and implementing sustainability projects in GHG emissions reduction, sustainable product design, HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental), water, supply chain management, renewable power procurement, manufacturing efficiency and/ or operational efficiency.

• Proven record of accomplishments in decarbonization / GHG emissions management.

• Professional experience in one of our client’s target sectors: industrial and manufacturing, chemicals and materials, energy efficiency and green fuels, infrastructure, food and agriculture.

• Deep understanding of sustainability management market landscape and ability to leverage industry relationships in the field.

• Professional certificate in project management, and relevant experience with project management SaaS (Software as a Service). • Executive presence and ability to influence and communicate effectively at multiple levels, including company executive leadership teams, peers, and external stakeholders.

• Graduate degree with exemplary academic credentials in a related field.

• Strong data analysis, Microsoft Excel, and Power Point skills.

• Strong time management skills.

• Bias for action, ability to work with limited supervision and drive change.

 

 

Compensation:

 

OTE for this role ranges from $150,000-175,000 and is comprised of a base salary between $115,000 – 135,000 and a 30% bonus. The final offer may vary based on the candidate's qualifications, skills, and years of relevant experience. We are open to considering candidates with varying levels of experience, and the salary will be determined based on a thorough assessment of these factors.
